Etcetera cupboard - works well...not

I had my dad build me this wonderful cabinet.  This is the picture I took when I first finished painting it before we started to use it.  I wanted it to be a catchall for all the stuff that comes in our front door ;)  Very handy, easy to access (no doors to open, no drawers to pull out - easy, peesy).

Here we are a few weeks later and this is how Jaimee uses it.  Yes my 17 year old, this is her way of putting them away when I asked her to do so.  My 17 year old who leaves a trail of where she has been - stuff out, lights on...yes and this is how she puts her stuff away in the cupboard.

Photo prompt today: Playing.  There is sure a lot of growling coming from this dog.  He sounds very mean, but really is the opposite!

I love it when she sits there and chats to me while I am doing my computer stuff.

Nice way to start a week

While waiting for Jason to get up this morning, I did some blogging and picture taking.  It was such a quiet and beautiful morning.

What a way to start a week, a beautiful sunrise.

Our kitchen is complete

Yay, our kitchen is done (minor painting touch ups to do - but done!)!  I love our new kitchen, so bright and airy!  Shaker style cabinets, chunky stainless handles, light gray marble like stone counter and white matte subway tile - I like the modern country feel of it.

Now over spring break I plan on doing the rest of the painting - dining and living rooms - hopefully all goes well.

Computer

The photo prompt for today is computer.  I love my laptop and I am using it more and more in my craft room.

3 o'clock

The prompt was 3 o'clock and this is what I was working on, more home decor projects.

Somebody Turned 15!

It was my youngest daughter's birthday today - 15! Wow!

She wanted to go out for Chinese - more specifially Peking Duck so we asked my parents and out we went. It was delicious and we were stuffed.

Came back to our house for some DQ Ice Cream Cake.

Had a few laughs

The photo prompt was 'sewn' this is my take on sewn (or not, hehehe)

Super Bowl Snack

One of the snacks that Jason made for the Super Bowl, herbed breadsticks.  They were a hit, everyone really liked them.  Note the 'dirty' oven... that is what happens when you have a brand new oven and you want to keep it clean so you put tin foil on the bottom without reading the instructions (ovens have instructions?!).  Yes that was me, yes it caused a fire and yes irks me everytime I open my new oven!  

Almost done

Nearing the home stretch of the kitchen reno.  We have finally got the window installed and the backsplash ordered... perhaps this time next week it will be done?
