Coming along

Things are coming along, we now have the bottom cupboards filled and we have an oven and fridge.  Can't wait to have a sink and dishwasher!

No Sink...

You know the restaurant sign "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service".... Well right now I'm kinda thinking of putting one up in our kitchen, except ours would say:

No Sink

No Stove

No Supper

Painting helper...

The house is turned upside down, we are making our way through the reno with not too many glitches... well until someone decided to help me paint.  I was a little surprised when I found little footprints all over the stairs and on my backpack.  Thank goodness Max (our 90 pound dog) didn't do it!

As the kitchen turns

We are making our way through our kitchen reno.  I have most of the drywall dust and such cleaned... or so I thought.  Everytime I think it feels cleaner something happens to remind me that it won't be clean until we are done.  We have take out more cupboards and moved our fridge into the living room.  The new cupboards will get installed on Friday but of course the appliances won't be in yet.

A fridge in the living room - isn't that where it is supposed to be?

Breakfast anyone?

Boxes, mops and dust rags are becoming the norm around here.

Shall I try to do some gourmet cooking or baking?

Dusty, hot and noisy. Doesn't get any better ;)

We have only been in the kitchen reno for just under a month and I am ready for it it be over.  I am tired of the mess, the dust, the disarray but yes, I do know it will be worth it in the end... just looking forward to the end.  Here is the lovely living room.

Noise pollution.... This noisy fan/heater has been running since I got home from work.  It is to dry the mud on the new drywall so that it can be sanded tomorrow - yay, more dust ;)   

Stepping around the ladder the drywaller has left... note the pizza boxes - such a healthy dinner.

Men at Work

The kitchen renos are coming along nicely.  Jason has done an awesome job as a general contractor.  Everything has lined up well thus far.  Yesterday he got all the insulation put back in the ceiling and walls.  Tomorrow the drywallers come.  By the end of this week, our kitchen should look like a room again (with a few cupboards missing - which of course is making our dining room and living room look more like a kitchen, hehehe).  It will be ready for painting - hope I can get to it, and cupboards to arrive in the next few weeks.  The problem will be waiting until December 20th for counter installation!
