Cherries

My wonderful neighbor gave me a bunch of cherries.  I LOVE cherries, they are my favorite fruit.

I love my hydrangeas

I love hydranges, almost as much as lilacs.  I have a lot of them in bloom right now, except for my large Pee Gee Hydrangea that was one of my favorites, it was destroyed at the same time as the neighbor did this.

The sounds of spring and summer

One of my favorite sounds in the spring and summer is the sound of a lawn mower.  I find it so relaxing, Jason says it is because I am not the one behind it! LOL!  Whatever it is,  it makes me want to have a nap... a close second is the sound of a power saw - go figure.

Summer decorating

Finally home long enough to get out our summer collections and start some decorating.  We like to save little bits and bobs from our summer camping trips and what not, I keep them from year to year to decorate with.

Leaving Chicago

We had a great time in Chicago.  Full of sights, sounds and lots of walking and food!  We filled up everyday and made sure we got in as much as we could.  At the airport in Chicago we finally were sitting, a little longer than we would have liked - we got there about 1:30 (had to check out of hotel by 1) and our flight didn't leave until 6:30 - that sitting really made me tired.  I think the week caught up with me (well us).  Not all was lost at the airport, Thienly was there and going to be on the same flight, so we hung out with her.  She is such a sweetie, was so glad to have met her and got to know her better.

Chicago Day 5

Today ended up being a longer day than anticipated.  We had only planned on seeing the Chicago Cubs play, go for dinner and then come back to the hotel and relax.  We left at 10am and back at 8:30.  Did some more walking around another part of the downtown area.  We really liked this area a lot and we ended it off with dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe... have to add to Jason's Hard Rock Cafe glasses collection which I started with a purchase from the Tokyo Hard Rock Cafe.

Day 4 in Chicago

We had a full day in downtown Chicago on our 4th day.  Headed downtown about 10am and got back about midnight!  We did the River Tour, some shopping,  the John Hancock centre - went for a drink up on the 96th floor and ended the day at a Live Blues shindig.  

CHA Day

This is the view from our Hotel room... thought I would post it today as it is rather fitting.  I will be spending the day here.  Jason will be doing some more sight seeing downtown Chicago.  I have loved what we have done so far but have to admit I am looking forward to CHA and the break from the hot sun and humidity!

Day 2 in Chicago

We spent another hot day here in Chicago.  Today we went to the Navy Pier, wandered around downtown, did Northbridge Mall and the Magnificent Mile.  At least today was much more shady but still warm.

It has been awhile...

June was crazy busy for me and I barely had time to breathe at times let alone think about a photo for the day.  How about I make up for it with a bunch of pictures from our trip to Alberta.  We had a great time, lots of driving, and I have to say it always feels good to get home.
